An online class is delivered 100% electronically using the internet or other computer-based methods. The teaching is conducted from a remote location through an online course learning management system or other online or electronic tools. Students have access to the teacher and classmates synchronously, asynchronously, or both. Online classes typically are term-based, but some may be offered in a self-paced format.
The College of Engineering and Applied Science offers an online Graduate level Certificate in Space Operations to qualified students. Involving only a fraction of the coursework required for a master's degree, the certificate can be completed in less than two years. Certificate is officially noted on the student's transcript. In most cases, should the student choose to continue beyond the certificate, coursework can count toward the award of a full master's degree.
